For the Record

For the Record

To my fellow member of the human race

Peace

It has come to my attention that certain members of my people have been promulgating a doctrine that distorts the essence of the teaching that we were entrusted with.

You have heard how the Creator of all took us out of Egypt with signs and wonders and how He taught us His Torah through national revelation and through His prophet. The open miracles that God preformed for us spread our reputation as the possessors of God’s Law. These men of whom I speak, exploited our reputation as possessors of God’s truth, and they spread a teaching that has no basis in the Torah that God has bequeathed to us.

These teachers taught you that all of mankind is damned before God to eternal punishment. They taught that if a person commits one sin it is as if he or she violated all of the commandments. These men taught that the God of Israel will not forgive your sins unless you present a blood sacrifice. These men taught that the God of Israel is unapproachable. And they taught that the good deeds that you do will not bring you any closer to God.

All of these teachings are blatant falsehoods. As a member of the people who were entrusted with God’s Law, I see it as my duty to correct these falsehoods that were taught as if they were the Law of my God.

God does NOT condemn everyone to the fires of eternal damnation. You can search the Jewish Scriptures from cover to cover; you will not find one verse that supports such a teaching.

A person who commits one sin is NOT equivalent in God’s eyes as if they violated the entirety of the Law. The Scriptures explicitly teach that God judges every deed, both bad and good (Ecclesiastes12:14). The conscience that God breathed into all of us tells us that there is a great difference in God’s eyes between a person who lived a moral life on the one hand and a person who lived a life of cruelty and immorality on the other hand.

The Jewish Scriptures do NOT teach that God requires blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. The Scriptures openly declare that if you turn to God in sincere repentance, God will forgive you (Isaiah 55:7).

The Jewish Scriptures do NOT teach that God is unapproachable. On the contrary, our prophets declare that God is close to all who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18).

If I were to say that the good deeds that you do will bring you closer to God, I will not have said enough. Our prophets taught us that the practice of justice IS intimacy with God (Jeremiah 22:16). When we follow the universal principle of justice: “that which you hate done unto yourself, do not do unto others”, we allow God’s truth to penetrate into our psyche. When we recognize the grace of God’s goodness that is expressed in every detail of existence, and we are moved to take the goodness that we were blessed with and allow it to flow towards another creation of God, we have then connected to the kindness and love of God. It is not that these activities bring us closer to God. The practice of kindness and truth are a connection to God in and of themselves.

There is one more false teaching that these men have propagated in the name of the Torah of my God. They have encouraged people to direct their hearts in worship of and in devotion to a man who walked God’s earth and breathed God’s air like the rest of us.

If there is any teaching that is contrary to the Torah with which we were entrusted it is this one.

My nation was called upon by God to serve as His witnesses (Isaiah 43:10). God taught us that there is none beside Him that is worthy of our worship and devotion (Deuteronomy4:35). Our core duty as a witness nation before God is to remain loyal to the truth that all created beings are equally subservient to the One Creator of all. Every facet of our existence, including our ability to love and to worship belongs to God and to God alone. It is my duty as a Jew to testify to you that your heart belongs to the One Almighty God who loved your heart into existence in the first place.

There is no greater joy on earth than approaching your Creator in heartfelt prayer. You don’t need anyone to plead for you and you don’t need to bring Him a blood sacrifice. The One who lovingly created every facet of your existence will accept you. All you have to do is to trust in His love.

  3. Len Hummel says:

R.Yisroel, you raise important questions here: particularly about “how GOD is not approachable without a blood sacrifice” and the Christian doctrine of “eternal torment”. I commend you for raising these questions, for they are worth examining and debating and discussing carefully.
I am especially in agreement with these statements (paraphrasing) … “GOD honors heartfelt repentance & prayer.” and “The One who lovingly created every facet of your existence will accept you. All you have to do is to trust in His love.” – the power of these truths are in their simplicity.
Grace [even Christian concepts of grace] without Love of Truth & upholding GOD’S MORAL TRUTH, is a ticket to disaster, IF that grace is divorced from repentance and honoring GOD in His Holiness. … grace is a Gift, unmerited in every way. sanctification is our proper response to that Gift. … Life itself is, in fact, a Gift.
So is Messiah Ben-Yosef. As is also Messiah Ben-David.
Peace, blessing, and Shalom to you & yours.
(from one who is glad to be friend to a pharisee-friend)
you are a man who thinks & filters things through the awesome lessons of Torah. – THAT I can always respect.

  4. Len Hummel says:

btw, my friend, (as you may know) there are significant groups and organizations within “Christianity” that do not teach “the eternal torment of the lost” or of the wicked. Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and a number of main-line churches believe only in “the annihilation” of those outside the Kingdom. … what I have always told people debating this issue is this: “When a particular soul (and all it’s choices and life-history and motives) stands before The Eternal Righteous & IMPARTIAL Judge: ALL options are THERE present before GOD.” – “He is not limited by ANY of our notions or doctrines or quotings of scripture. – He will Judge with absolutely fairness & righteousness: ALL options are before His Face.” He is not limited by Man’s ‘understandings’.

  5. Cohen says:

    Hello Rav Blumenthal Shlita,

Great post as usual. For a few years now, I’ve been a casual follower of countermissionary activity in general and of your writings. As such I’ve seen mention over the years of the fact that you have engaged in a years long (but mostly private) correspondence with Dr. Brown.

I was wondering why it is specifically over the last year or so, that you have decided to take your “battle” with Dr. Brown more public with your posts both here, and even more aggresively, on his blog?

In any event, may Hashem continnue to grant you the strength and chochma to represent the truth of our mesorah as ably as you do.

  6. Cohen
I was hoping to get some response from Dr. Brown for the questions I posed to him. When these were not forthcoming I thought that he was reconsidering his arguments – when Lee Stroebel came out with his book – that included an interview with Dr. Brown – in which Dr. Brown reiterated many arguments that I thought I had refuted – I realized that it is time to go public

  7. John says:

First, I concur with Len’s high opinion of you. You mention a “moral life”. If we were in a Christian blob, the question would likely arise “moral life relative to whom”? Can any of us truthfully “walk” blamelessly before G-d? Is our “conscience” our internal scorecard? I can always find those that I can shake my head at, but also realize that there are many that could look at me doing the same. Relative to G-d? Does He have a “cut-off line”, or threshold? Are there scriptural answers to the questions? Blessings Rabbi!

  8. John
Do you then believe that Hitler and your neighbor are equal in God’s eyes?

    • John says:

Hi Rabbi. No!..As I’m sure you know, as a Christian, my belief is that God sees those that have accepted Jesus as their Messiah, Savior AND Lord the same. He sees Jesus! That being said, and this is “judgmental on my part”, I don’t believe Hitler was a Christian, but ONLY God knows! I judge myself to be a Christian, albeit imperfect. Therefore, my personal belief is that God does NOT “see” us as equal “in His eyes! What do you believe?

      • John
You misunderstood my question. What I was asking you was if you believe that any two non-Christians are equal in God’s eyes – for example – Hitler (who I recognize as someone you would not cosider a Christian) and another person – who never killed anyone – are these two equal?

  9. Len Hummel says:

Excellent answer, John. I see things basically the same way. GOD Judges basically BY REALITY & MOTIVES.
But Jesus/Yeshua paid the ETERNAL DEBT of sin: the eternal consequences were swallowed up in his making “his soul an offering for sin”.

  10. Len
So do you believe that Hitler (non-Christian) and Abraham Joshua Heschel are equal in God’s eyes?

    • Len Hummel says:

No, my friend: absolutely not. They are NOT equal in GOD’S sight. He Judges by words, deeds, AND MOTIVES.

Hitler was one of the most evil and obsessed persons who ever lived. He is also directly and indirectly responsible for the slaughter of MILLIONS of people both on and off the battlefield.

Thank you for asking your question. I am glad to clarify my answer.
      Shalom.

  11. Len Hummel says:

And in anticipation of your next question:” If he rejected or refused to believe Yeshua as Messiah, do I believe that Abraham Joshua Heschel [or other righteous Jews] will end up in the same place as Hitler” ? >>> No. I believe GOD Judges each case individually and on its own merits. TOTALLY. Perfectly. IMPARTIALLY.
For instance: I believe that [if unblinded] ALL righteous Jews would accept Jesus as Messiah & Redeemer, … when that Light is given to them. – exactly WHEN & WHERE they accept & receive that Light is strictly a matter of conjecture.

  12. Len
Thanks for your answer – I am not sure I understood it though – are you saying that someone like AJHeschel will ultimately receive Jesus?

  13. Len Hummel says:

Yes, my friend. That is my understanding of GOD and His Righteousness in Judgement: EVERYONE who has a sincere love for GOD and TRUTH will be granted entrance into The Kingdom of Righteousness & Peace, … and this by virtue of their choices and the knowledge of WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE CHOSEN had they not been blinded or prejudicial against GOD’S REDEMPTION by way of religion and culture, etc. GOD is surely an IMPARTIAL JUDGE; human beings and religionists are NOT.

I fully expect to see many, many MANY righteous Jews in The Kingdom.

I am often fond of telling people who are very black&white and narrow-minded about “who gets into The Kingdom and who DOESN’T” that “when any particular soul stands before HOLY GOD upon His Throne of Judgment: all bets are off, … and *ALL* OPTIONS ARE BEFORE HIS FACE.” … **HE SEES to the very core & heart of the choices, the motives, and the spirit & soul of the person.**

I’m sure we disagree (for now) about the significance of the Life, Death & Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, … but I think very likely we agree on much or even all of the above.

    Shalom in Sar Shalom.

PS/ I am enjoying our dialog here. This morning at around 5AM I was awakened with “A Set of Questions” that I will post to facebook as “a bit of a thinking challenge” to some of the best minds I know on the Internet. – you’re included in the list. Hope you enjoy the questions. … the answers are important, … and not easy. … :^)

  14. Len Hummel says:

These questions are addressed to Dr.Michael L.Brown; R.Yisroel; R.Tovia; R.Eli Cohen; and Reggie Kelly, (formerly of Ben Israel Fellowship) . . .
Please take the time to examine them carefully … and answer when you have the time to do so.
    thank you.

It is sometimes wisely said and observed that “the right questions are as important (or “almost” as important} as the right answers.”(!) … well, with that fair & fine truth in mind, … please see the following . . .

Q: What do you know? … I mean REALLY know.

    Q: Describe REALITY.

Q: What are the Moral Boundaries set by GOD in His Universe ?

Q: What did Jesus mean by “wheat” and “tare”. ? … and how do they inter-face, and what are their destinies ?

    Q: What Is Oneness & separation ?
    Q: What is Good & evil, – Light & darkness ?

Q: How can you see or understand GOD as ONE BEING, yet Three Persons within The Godhead ?

Please do take your time thinking these questions through. and thank you again for your time & efforts.

Shalom to those who love Peace & pursuit It.

  15. Len
I’ll answer some of your questions
The only think that we really know (block out all learned knowledge and focus on what we know intrinsically) – that we are dependant existences – in religious terminology – that we exist on the back-ground of God’s existence.
Reality – there are different levels – the deepest is connecting with the reality of realities – God
    Moral boundaries – truth

  16. Len Hummel says:

Sorry. I’ll get back to you. These (and those of Eli) were very inadequate and “mere thumbnail” answers. They did not address the significant questions in ANY kind of depth, … meaning: at least a few paragraphs or more. The questions: at least so far, have been “merely waved aside”.

  17. Len Hummel says:

OK. Sorry for the delay. I had a slew of appointments to attend to. Thank you for the very short & brief answers. But that, frankly, is not what I was looking for: basic assertion with very little actual thought or reasons behind it. I’m looking for and PROPOSING these questions in order to get serious answers that amount to something more than one or two-line assertions. No. not a full blown essay or book on each question or issue: but some serious thought with some MEAT to it that may or may not bring actual LIGHT to the issues & questions posed.
The ‘answers’ given by you and Eli, so far, are woefully inadequate.
If you are not inclined to take the time to give serious thought to the questions, just say so.
    Example:
Q: What do you know? … I mean REALLY know. >>> We have to be intellectually honest and admit we KNOW very little about ultimate MEANING and such esoteric and deeply mysterious terms as “GOD” “Infinity” “Eternal” “Being” “Consciousness”, etc. Of course, we know “we are alive” and have awareness and “thoughts” about this and that, … we know whether we have a mate or children that love us & depend on us. We know if we have friends who have proven themselves caring and faithful and precious. We “know” money and power and drugs and sex and music & “entertainment” are often addictive. – these are somewhat mundane things. But I speak of WHAT DO YOU OR DO WE *know* of the more metaphysical, esoteric, spiritual questions. WHY? do we say, “we KNOW GOD is such and such and make all these statements about GOD and ultimate meaning and redemption and moral truth” … when, in fact, most or nearly all have no actual FACTUAL EVIDENCE to prove these assertions one way or the other. ? am I being ‘a sophist’ ? No. just honest, and requiring some serious insight.

    – the above is an actual beginning to address the seriousness of the question posed: What do you ACTUALLY KNOW about anything? … be it GOD or other spiritual issues surrounding ultimate meaning & truth.

Sorry. but I don’t accept “pat-answers” with little or no thought actually behind it.

  18. Len
What makes you think that these are not thought out answers? I thought long and hard about these questions years before you asked them. I would explain them to you at greater length – if you are interested. For now I will point out to you that my third answer is the idea behind the article “Do Not Do Unto Others” – archived under “Basic”

  19. Len Hummel says:

R.Yisroel: this was my clear final statement after posting the set of questions above: “Please do take your time thinking these questions through. and thank you again for your time & efforts.”

    Here were your (three) responses:
*The only thing that we really know (block out all learned knowledge and focus on what we know intrinsically) – that we are dependant existences – in religious terminology – that we exist on the back-ground of God’s existence.

    * Reality – there are different levels – the deepest is connecting with the reality of realities – God

    * Moral boundaries – truth

    =============
Do you see any reasons for me to object to the sufficiency of these answers ?

Have you taken time or trouble to address the other questions posed? … and YOU object to Dr.Brown now “sufficiently taking time to answer YOUR questions” ? Excuse me.

  20. Len Hummel says:

  21. Len
First of all – I did not object to your objection as to the sufficiency of the answers – I didn’t expect you to fully get the answers on teh first shot – I expected you to ask a question or two and we would take it from there or you could simply have said – “can you explain them at greater length”. What I consider wrong is your saying that these answers are not thought out – for your information – they are thought out – I spent years thinkingabout these questions – and I could back them up with scripture
As for your comparison to my not answering your questions to Dr. brown not answering my questions – the comparison does not begin. Your questions pose no challenge to anything that I believe or to anything that I’ve written – they are just philosophical questions. My questions to Dr. Brown – refute the main arguments in his books – until he responds to them – then the arguments in his books remain refuted

  22. Len Hummel says:

Yisroel, let’s forget about the extreme brevity of your three responses to the questions posed. Let’s forget about how much thought & time was put into those three answers. … rather: let’s concentrate on please answering the questions in greater detail as per the requested. thank you. and yes: I do understand that time constraints requires answering the questions one or two at a time at most. sorry I did not specify this more carefully when I first posted the questions. I do actually value your input, … not that I would agree necessarily with all that you have to say, … as I might find some disagreement with Benji or Dr.Brown or Reggie as well.

The other thing about Dr.Brown: did he not say he WOULD get to answering your objections when he had time and the inclination to do so? I hope you accepted that. I also am given to understand that he has taken MANY personal phone calls from you and discussed your objections both in those phone conversations AND on his radio program.

Shalom, and GOD’s blessing upon Israel and His people.

  23. Len Hummel says:

and regarding “KNOWING” and the major object [and controversy] of the first question: CAN ANYONE **KNOW** that Jesus is or is NOT the Messiah of Israel & Saviour of the world. ?
not without direct Light & revelation they can’t. period.

Jesus Himself plainly said so. … so also did Paul *who DID have directly light & revelation, btw.* and he clearly testified to such. GOD, in a direct visitation of His Son, “arrested him” on his way to Damascus to capture and imprison Jewish followers of Jesus at that time. – people like you and Tovia choose to say, “Paul was either deluded or his testimony is worthless and false.” … oh, really? present your proof.

    • Naaria says:

Where is the proof that a “Paul” even existed, since no word about him existed before the end of the 2nd century c.e. or is it actually at the beginning of the 4th (if you believe Saint Augustine)? Why was his “light” so infused with pagan ideas and with so many contradictions and with so much hostility to God’s laws? Why was Paul or Rav Shaul chasing after the ordinary “Jewish followers of Jesus” into foreign lands to “persecute” them, but he seemed to have had no problem with the leaders of those followers, who remained preaching and teaching in Jerusalem? And where is the proof scripturally or otherwise, that anti-polytheistic, anti-idolatrous God had a son, other than the nations and peoples and leaders of Israel and Judea? Now, Nebuchanezzar believed in a son of god and “seen” one in his “light & revelation” within a fire, if you trust his “light”. But the Hebrew boys didn’t see him, nor did they need any “son that was in the image of man” to help them, since they had God and none beside God.

  24. Len
You seem to be operating under a serious misunderstading concerning my relationship with Dr. Brown –
    For the record –
I met him about 10 years ago – we exchanged some arguments – I gave him my booklet “You are My Witnesses” – since then we’ve corresponded (about 300 pages of e-mail interaction). We’ve spoken quite a bit by phone – and exchanged ideas – but he has NOT answered my questions. I could send you the e-mail interaction – if you would be interested in it – so you can see for yourself how many questions of mine he has not answered. So when you say “he has taken many personal phonecalls..” – it has no bearing on his answering my questions.
In any case – what does all this have to do with you? Do you understand my questions? Do you have answers for them (besides “Jesus is the only valid hermeneutical principle”)? – Are you going to tell God that you relied on Dr. Brown?

  25. Len
As for “knowing” if Jesus is or isn’t the Messiah – the burden of proof is upon Jesus – it is 2000 years – and his lawyers still haven’t put a decent case together – how much more time do you want to give him? How much more proof do you need? – I encourage you to read “The Elephant and the Suit” prayerfully and thoughtfully and you will see how I know that Jesus is not the Messiah
    – by teh way – how do you know that Mohammed is not a prophet? How do you know that the book of Chronicles was written with divine inspiration?

  26. Len
I will give my first answer a bit more space here.
Did you ever try to sit back in a quiet spot – relax – close your eyes – and block out all external impressions – and ask yourself – what do I know? ask yourself – what did I know before I was born? Did you ever read Scripture asking yourself – what are the firm “givens” that the writer – of every last book in the Jewish Scripture expected the reader to be “bringing to teh table”?
Did you ever think about these things?

  27. Len Hummel says:

Personally, I believe Dr.Brown HAS addressed and answered MOST ALL if not ALL of your questions and objections in his research and books that are already on record and in print. – *you* say (and try to insist) that “he hasn’t”. – that’s *your* judgment call. In any case, has he not said that he WILL (as he finds time to do so) answer your questions & objections IN WRITING, … other than referencing his answers already given in his books. ? He has. – will his answers & his five volumes change YOUR MINDSET *against* Jesus as Messiah ? likely not. – you are as locked into your mindset AGAINST Jesus as I am in defending Him. – neat how it works that way, yes?

  28. Len Hummel says:

CAN ANYONE **KNOW** that Jesus **is** the Messiah of Israel & Saviour of the world
without direct Light & revelation? … they cannot. period. Jesus Himself plainly said so. … but the evidence IS THERE in both the Tanakh and the testimony of the NT witnesses and the witnesses of those who have *had an encounter with Christ VIA THE HOLY SPIRIT* – just as Jesus clearly SAID would be the essence of revelation and of “knowing Him” and “Who HE IS.” – without *that* encounter, – the speculations, interpolations, and *the* controversy go on endlessly. … but to say that “there is ‘no evidence’ of Yeshua Messiah Ben-Yosef IN THE PROPHETS AND SCRIPTURES” **is blatantly and patently FALSE! and so utterly wrong & biased as to be really, really QUITE offensive and simply & plainly UNtrue.”* – for the record. – and I don’t mind going on record on this matter.

  29. agadah says:

If you seek, you may find or you may not. But you need not be locked into your mindset. I once thought like you, but a few articles from a few rabbis (and a book by Rabbi Silver on “Where Judaism Differs”) opened my eyes. The invention of Jesus (or this new age reinvention of Jesus called “Yeshua”) is clearly based on wishful thinking; there is no evidence but only a relatively few OT verses (sometimes only a part of the verse) that have been taken out of context, by rebellious man, and twisted & contorted into so-called proofs. That should be very clear to anyone who honestly reads his or her Tanach.

Yes, I was re-baptized in the Jordan River and I felt the Holy Spirit again. But the Holy Spirit led me to a different place. Every piece of your “evidence” and every revelation from God (the only Holy Spirit) has led me to a rejection of Yeshua, aka Jesus by the most believers. BTW, a true messiah is truly beleivable and can be understood plainly & clearly. There is no need to scrutinize OT scripture and seek to find hidden messages and clues as your proof for your personal beliefs. There is no need to rely on emotion, estatic feelings, or private experiences. You will not need some special revelation or super-natural intervention to believe a true messiah. And by definition, God is not an angel, not a man, not a messiah, not a son, not a servant (whether suffering or not), not a priest, not an anointed one. Or else your god is a very, very small god.

  30. Len
it is not a matter of judgement – Dr. Brown doesn’t even claim that he answered my objections as of yet – his only claim is that he will in the future answer them. Meanwhile – YOU don’t have the answers.
You find it “offensive” when I tell you that Jesus is not present in the Jewish Scriptures. Instead of getting offended – let us try to discuss it like two mature adults – Deal?

  31. Blasater says:

It is interesting to read Lens list of MUST be answered questions. Each loaded with Christian bias as to what the answer SHOULD be. Len should be asking more relevant questions, such as: Who did G-d give His truth to? Does he ever give His truth to another group? etc…

But here are some questions for Len and other followers of the godman Jesus.

Where does it say in Tanakh that messiah will do the law for us, on our behalf?

Where does it say in Tanakh that we must believe in messiah or else?
    … …
Where does it specifically say in Tanakh that messiah will be divine?

Where in Tanakh does G-d specifically say that He will come in the form of man?

Where in Tanakh does G-d announce to the nation of Israel He is 3-in-1 personages.

Where does it say in Tanakh that messiah will be a human sacrifice?

Where does it say in Tanakh that being killed on a Roman torture device by suffocation is the same as chatat sacrifice having its throat slit and fat, offal burned on the altar?

Where does it say in Tanakh that messiah will not complete his messianic tasks and will come a second time to finish the job?

Where in the Tanakh does it say that it is acceptable to have ‘faith’ and put our salvation in the hands of a messiah who does not complete ALL of the messianic duties?

Where in Tanakh does it say that messiah will end the law and will make a law of christ?

Where does it say in Tanakh to eat the flesh and drink the blood of a dead messiah until he shows up again?

Where does it say in Tanakh that Elijah will also come twice?

Where does it say in Tanakh that eating pig (and the like) will be okay when messiah comes?

Where does it say in Tanakh that gentiles will be “grafted” in?

Where does it say in Tanakh that messiah will be a “lamb” of God?

Where does it say in Tanakh that in the messianic era, the Sabbath is not required?

Where in Tanakh does it say that G-d gives His truth to gentile nations and the Jews will come to the gentiles for the truth?

Where in Tanakh does it say that there is salvation in a Son of man?

  32. dinken says:

You have stated ,”These men taught that the God of Israel will not forgive your sins unless you present a blood sacrifice. The Jewish Scriptures do NOT teach that God requires blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. They have encouraged people to direct their hearts in worship of and in devotion to a man who walked God’s earth and breathed God’s air like the rest of us.” You have omitted to say that these men taught the world that killing of that man on the cross was a sacrifice for the sins of all human beings. And they taught the world that that Sacrifice was carried out according to the great master plan prepared by God almighty before the creation of the world in his all wisdom to save all human beings from sin.

According to their theory the son of God stood in front of Romans or Jews pleading silently please crucify me, please crucify me in order to save the great master plan of God from utter failure.
I wonder what would have happened to the great master plan of God almighty if the Romans or Jews had not crucified him on the cross?

Even if we accept for the sake of arguments that the son of God put away his life on the cross as a sacrifice to make his father’s plan victorious, that sacrifice alone will not make this master plan a success..What would have happened If nobody had believed He is the son of god? Even if all believed he is son of god it will not save the master plan from failure, What would have happened in nobody had baptized in his name? Baptism alone will not save the master plan, the person baptized should preach that He is the son of God. If no body had preached he is son of God what would have happened the to the master plan?

His sacrifice, you baptism, your belief that he is son of God, your preaching he is son of God all these things alone cannot save you.You must repent and confess your sins before a priest if you want to be saved. Even if you confess your sins it alone will not save you from sin, you should eat the flesh and drink the blood of son of God, for this purpose you should believe that when the priest make some prayer upon the bread and wine it will change into the flesh and bread of Son of God. The most difficult process of the salvation mechanism is that after eating the flesh and and drinking the blood of son of God you should not sin again to be saved. What a wonderful great master plan to save all the human beings from their sins? In whose amazing wisdom this great master plan was born? Is it in the infinite wisdom of God or in the limited wisdom of man?

  33. Dinken
God’s master plan is that people serve him in truth and in love – Christianity has been one of the greatest obstructions of His plan in the history of mankind

  34. Respected Yisroel,

Ref: Seventh Response to Dalton Posted on February 12, 2012

In your reply you have advised Dalton to ignore Jesus in the following words:
But I am not asking you to reject him. Just do what the Jewish people have been doing for the past 2000 years – ignore him. If you ignore him long enough – he will go away.

I invite your attention to the Prophecy of Ezekiel 3.

And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel– not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you. But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for the whole house of Israel is hardened and obstinate (Eze.3:1-7)

The scroll mentioned in the above prophecy may be the Gospel of Kingdom of God which Jesus preached to the Jews. In the prophecy it is stated “. You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel– not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you”.

Jesus claimed “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”. You are ignoring it. Jesus never went outside Israel to preach, he preached only to the Jews. And he instructed his disciples” Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven “. You are ignoring this also.

Ezekiel states “. But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you”. 2000 years have passed still you Jews refuse to listen Jesus believing he is a failed messiah wrongly believing he claimed he is the messiah. And you ignore the truth that he never claimed he is the messiah and he had commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. Is it not an astonishing thing? As the prophecy states You Jews refused to listen Jesus at the same time the Gentiles who didn’t know the language or meaning of the message of Jesus accepted him even as the son of God. Is it not the wonderful fulfillment of the prophecy of Ezekiel? And is it not because of your utter ignorance about Jesus you advise others to ignore Jesus?

  35. Daniel
Our calling as a nation before God DEMANDS that we ignore Jesus – see the Ten Commandments

  36. Dear Phariseefriend,

“Our calling as a nation before God DEMANDS that we ignore Jesus – see the Ten Commandments “. I can’t fully understand what you mean. Would you please explain a little bit?

  37. Daniel
God said that He is the Lord and that we should have no other gods beside Him – is it clear now?

  38. Dear Phariseefriend,

It is very clear and what Jesus also taught the Jews was the very same truth and nothing else.
” One of the teachers of the law came and asked Jesus , “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mk12:28-31)

What does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD’s commands and decrees for your own good?

Jesus again says,”it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ (Mt.4:10) “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and (son of God) (Mt.6:24) I wonder and I can’t understand why you ignore this Jesus who has said nothing or did nothing against Judaism. Would you please, please explain, why, why you ignore Jesus ?

  39. Daniel
It seems that you are not a trinitarian – OK – do you believe that Jesus was a prophet?

  40. danielpaulk says:

    Dear Phariseefriend,

Instead of answering my request why do you want to know what I believe? What is the relationship with my own belief and the 2000 years aged Jewish belief that Jesus is a failed messiah? But admitting yourself that Jews ignored Jesus 2000 years you are revealing the relationship of the work of Jesus and the prophecy of Isaiah. By ignoring Jesus you failed to see what Jesus did, You failed to listen what Jesus said and what is its result? you failed to understand his message. Is it not what Isaiah foretold? Hear the words of Isaiah;-

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” 9 He said, “Go and tell this people: ” ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ 10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” Then I said, “For how long, O Lord?” And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged, until the LORD has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”

See Jesus didn’t claim he is the messiah but you branded him a failed messiah. He claimed he is doing the work what Isaiah foretold but you ignored it. Isaiah has foretold how long its effect will remain. But now the ruined cities and deserted land have been inhabited by the holy seed again. It is time to abandon the mentality of ignoring Jesus because that time of “the not perceiving effect” is over. It is time to look into the words and deeds of Jesus and to understand the meaning of his message which was hidden from your eyes and to realize Jesus said and did nothing against Jews and Judaism

    Daniel.

  41. Daniel
By appealing to me on the basis of Scripture – I understand that you accept that I can read and understand Scripture – According to my understanding of Scripture – Jesus was a fraud. If you think there is a Scripture I missed – please share it with me – but first check what I’ve written to see if I haven’t already responded to your argument

  42. danielpaulk says:

    Dear Phariseefried,
You wrote “According to my understanding of Scripture – Jesus was a fraud”
It reminds me about the prophecy of old Simon that says about baby Jesus , “”This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.” (Luke.2:34) When you say Jesus was a fraud, you are revealing your heart and not revealing the truth about Jesus.

Moses said,” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him” ( Det.18:22) That means if the things a prophet foretold in the name of Lord take place or happens as he foretold or proclaimed he is a prophet. Isn’t it? Jesus foretold the Jews,” Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” (Mathew 5:10,11)

What is righteousness of Jews? Moses says,” if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.” (Det.6:25)
Jews were persecuted throughout centuries because they remained as Jews trying to obey the commandments of their God. Can you refute this truth? On what basis you say this Jesus was a fraud?

Jesus said to the Jews,” people will insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” (Mathew 5:10,11) I challenge you tell honestly this didn’t happen to the Jews during the last 2000 years ? If you admit this happened to the Jews, then on what basis you say Jesus was a fraud?

Jesus said to the Jews “All this I have told you so that you will not go astray. They will put you out of the synagogue;in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you.” (John 16:1,4) I challenge you to tell honestly was it not the thinking or mentality of Christians when they killed Jews during the last 2000 years? If you admit all this things happened to Jews as foretold by Jesus, on what basis you say Jesus was a fraud?

Jesus told to the Jews,” All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you Israel will not finish going through the cities of before the Son of Man comes” (Mathew 10:22,23) I challenge you to tell honestly Jews were not hated by all in the name of Jesus. I challenge you tell honestly to say when Jews were persecuted during the 2000 years you didn’t flee from cities to cities. If you admit all this happened to Jews, on what basis you say Jesus was a fraud?

Jesus said,” “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” All other people on the earth have their own country to lay their heads. I challenge you to answer honestly to the question, Did you Jews have your own country to lay your head during the last 2000 Years? Then on what basis you say Jesus is a fraud?

Jesus told the Jews,” do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well “ (Mathew 6:31,31) For about 1840 years Jews waited for a messiah to come to establish their own kingdom. But no messiah came as foretold by Jesus. But some of the Jews returned to Palestine without worrying what shall we eat in the desert, what shall we wear and they searched their kingdom as advised by Jesus some 2000 years back and they found their kingdom. In their kingdom they have their own house, they have job, shelter, security food dress and everything they want. I challenge you to refute this didn’t happened to Jews? If you admit this happened to the Jews, on what basis you say that Jesus was a fraud ?

If you have ears to hear let the words of Jesus ring loudly in your ears ,” “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) After receiving the kingdom as foretold by Jesus, think twice before saying Jesus was a fraud .Don’t you feel there is some thing wrong about your understanding about Jesus. With all humility I humbly request you to shed away your ego and make a rethinking about your understanding about Jesus. Dear Pharisee friend, would you please do it honestly?

  43. Daniel
Sorry for the delay in my reply
Do you believe that Jesus said that no one comes to the father but through him? – If he said that – he was a fraud. The Scriptures teach that God is close to ALL who call to Him

    • danielpaulk says:

      Dear Pharisee friend,

Yes I believe Jesus said “No one comes to the Father except through me.” And it is the truth. I sympathies with you because you like many others fail to understand the profound meaning of the words of Jesus. If you could understand the language of Jesus you would not have called Jesus a fraud. I do not blame you because you are not the only one person who calls Jesus a fraud and I know they do this because of pure ignorance, because of pure misunderstanding. Jesus is the most misunderstood person who ever lived on earth.

Jesus said to the Jews,”you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are not willing to hear what I say”. Jesus plainly said he is a man send by God. But what do you think about Jesus? Like many you believe Jesus claimed he is the son of god and he made himself equal to God, so that he is a fraud.. And you are forgetting the truth that every Jew can say he is the son of God because God says ” Israel is my son ” and it doesn’t mean Jew is God. It means relationship with a Jew and God is that of a son and a father. Is it not what Moses and all other prophets teach you?

Psalmist says,” Yahweh said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you “. Will you say the person who wrote the psalm claims he is the son of God so that he is equal to God? Psalmist says,” you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.”. Will you say the psalmist says it about himself? Psalmist says,” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done”. Will you say the psalmist said it about himself? We can understand that the psalmist speaks as if he is Israel.

The very same way of the psalmist, many occasions Jesus also speaks as if He is Israel. That is why Jesus says,” “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener” Are you not aware who is the vine and who is the gardener? When Jesus says “No one comes to the Father except through me” Jesus speaks as if he is Israel. Are you not aware that it is through Israel that God reveals himself to the world? Jesus meant no body comes to God except through Israel.

Would you please help me to publish my book “ Truth hidden in gospels revealed” which will reveal true Jesus who is not a fraud? Jesus asks you “Why is my language not clear to you? Is it right and fair to call some one Fraud if you are unable to understand his language?

      • Concerned Reader says:

Daniel, your apostle Paul said that the law was to be a tutor to lead you to Christ, that the Torah was fit for doctrine and reproof. Jesus said “salvation is of the Jews.” If that is the truth, then according to the gospels the Torah is supposed to be trustworthy for all, as we have it today in and of itself.

If all of today’s law abiding religious Jews are inept, or “blind” to the deep teachings of Jesus, this makes your teachers liars, and their claims false by their own admission.

If the purpose of the Torah was to lead Israel to Jesus,(Jesus only spoke directly to Israel,) as NT writers say, it has clearly failed by your own admission.

Where does G-d say explicitly in scripture that his people are destined to reject his messiah only for him to come again? HINT……It’s NOT IN THERE.

It seems that no-one understands Jesus aside from you – perhaps you would say that no-one comes to Jesus but through you?

By mere coincidence he became instrumental to those findings. Those scrolls were hidden in the caves unknown to others for centuries. Likewise by mere coincidence I also found a Jesus hidden in the caves of Gospels for centuries. I am asking you to examine this Jesus with your all erudition in scriptures and history. Please don’t ask, “Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast?” ( Isaiah 28:9)

  46. danielpaulk says:

    Dear Pharisee Friend,

I have send an email as you have suggested and I am expecting you reply for that. Now I would like to present the following before the viewers of 1000 verses.

I have re-arranged the words of Jesus from the available gospels and have made a different gospel. Why I have done it? The following will give answer for it.

The concept of “Messiah” is the product of Judaism.” Messiah means simply anointed one for a special purpose. Scripture doesn’t say the anointed one is an individual. But somehow in the Jewish mind an idea grew that “Messiah” will be an individual in the lineage of their great king David. This idea developed into a firm faith, and when they edited the scriptures to make it one book, it might have influenced the editors and it resulted in the scriptures.

When the Jewish Bible scholars began to interpret Bible naturally their faith influenced their interpretation also. Thus the expectation of the arrival of a messiah deep rooted in the minds of Jews. This faith was so deep rooted in the Jewish mind that not even a single Jew dared to question this faith. As the culmination of this faith some Jews happened to believe that Jesus is the Messiah. And that Jews preached, ”Jesus is the Christ”.

The early Christians believed that the Christ event in history was the immediate prelude to the end of the world and final judgment of humankind. St. Paul in his epistles wrote that the present generation, his own, would see the apocalypse. In the Synoptic gospels they wrote Jesus also claimed that the people around him would still be alive for the last .. Anticipating the immediate end of the world at any moment, the early Christians felt no need to record the life or sayings of Jesus. During this time, the life and sayings of Jesus circulated in an oral form through Christian teachers and public speakers. This oral material included stories and sayings attributed to Jesus, but they did not exist in any systematic, organized, or universal form.

At the same time these stories and sayings were circulating around the early Christian world, another set of stories about Jesus were being created. Paul reinvented Christianity as a religion of a dead and risen God. It prompted Christians to write story of the death and resurrection of Jesus in such way to give legitimacy to Jesus Christ. They wrote the story in such a way to give the impression that had predicted his death on the cross and resurrection.

The early Christians needed more than the death and Resurrection to legitimate Christ as having divine status. They began to interpret that the prophecies that are in the bible about the Messiah are fulfilled in Jesus. For instance, in the gospels they wrote Jesus of Nazareth was born of virgin Mary and they wrote Jesus of Nazareth is a descendant of King David through his father, Joseph. And they wrote many gospels as stated by Luke. We must remember one thing. Jesus didn’t write any thing about his preaching. It is also not known that His apostles wrote anything about Jesus. Others who heard the preaching of apostles are the authors of the gospels. At present there are four Gospels and they are included the New Testament. There were many other gospels. (See.Luke 1:1-3) Church destroyed all other gospels which do not support the view of the church except what are included in the New testament.. The Gospel writers do not claim that they wrote it according to the instruction of God, Holy Spirit or Jesus. It may be noted that in the old testament every prophets claims Yahweh told them to write those words. So they are called words of God. See St.Luke, who wrote gospels like others says simply he also thought to write a gospel, he doesn’t say, he wrote the gospel according to the instruction received from God or from holy spirit or from Jesus. That is why its heading is given as “ Gospel according to Mathew, Gospel according to Mark, Gospel according to Luke, Gospel according to John” . Actually we don’t know who are the authors of the existing gospels in the New Testament. At first it was not even known as “ Gospels”. At an early date Gospel of Mathew was titled as “ Kata Mathaion “ (According to Mathew) . Gospel according to Mark was titled as “Kata Markon”, gospel of Luke was titled as “ Kata Loukon” and gospel of John was titled as “ Kata Ioannen”. The word gospel was added to it later.

The gospels are written with the sole intention to make others believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. St.John has admitted “These are written that you may believe that Jesus is Messiah, the son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31) The Gospels are not written according to the order of the events took place or according to the order of statements Jesus made. ( See Luke 1:1-2) Gospels are written for the sole purpose that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of god, and that believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31) That means in the gospels the words and deeds of Jesus are arranged in such a way to make you believe that Jesus is the Christ and son of God.

These gospels were not, however, immediately recognized as authority. As late as 96 AD, Clement, the Bishop of Rome, proclaimed the only authoritative texts of Christianity to be the Old Testament and the various sayings attributed to Jesus in circulation. The Gospels didn’t appear in Christian writings until around 135 AD.

Jesus was born in a Jewish family. Hence he was a Jew. He was bought up as a Jew. He died as a Jew with a jewfish prayer on his lips. He always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret he said nothing. (John 18:20) Some of the Jews found their messiah in Jesus (John1:41) Jesus spoke in the way as all other prophets. Jesus said ,” 12:49 “ I have not spoken from my own authority, but the Father himself who sent me has commanded me what I should say and what I should speak.” There is abundant evidence in the Gospels that Jesus considered his teachings to be for Jews only.. Jesus never tried to invent a new religion. Why should a person create a new religion when he believes that he was exclusively sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel? But the Gospel writers very cleverly make others to believe that the mission of Jesus was not only for the Jews but it was for the whole humankind and he established the Christian religion.

So to get an independent view of the preaching of Jesus it is highly essential to arrange the words and deeds of Jesus in an unbiased way. That is why I have written a gospel rearranging the words of Jesus from the four gospels. I shall send it to anybody who is interested in it.

  48. Concerned Reader says:

A Response to Len Hummel’s questions. LEN READ AND CONSIDER CAREFULLY

Q: What do you know? … I mean REALLY know.

As it pertains to the world, all we can truly “know” is what our senses and reason tell us by reasoned moral societal consensus. As per scripture, we have been “shown to KNOW that the lord he is G-d, and there is NONE ELSE. We also know, the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the lord.

    Q: Describe REALITY.

Reality is the independently attestable condition of this world that we all as creatures find ourselves in. Contrast this fact with non reality, otherwise known as the products of human emotion and imagination.

Q: What are the Moral Boundaries set by GOD in His Universe ?

Those as set forth in his five books of the Torah.

Q: What did Jesus mean by “wheat” and “tare”. ? … and how do they inter-face, and what are their destinies ?

The wheat are people who are faithful to the commandments, tares are the wicked who are not.

Q: What are the eternal destinies of spirits & souls? – or is there a continual (or even infinite) progression ? Only G-d knows.

Q: What Is Holy – Divine Love ? Divine love is life itself, which G-d says is his law the Torah. Deuteronomy 30:15-16, Psalm 119. (Notice how David lauds the beauty and good of the mitzvot IN CONTRAST to Christian attitudes about “the law.”

Q: What Is Oneness & separation ? Oneness as pertaining to G-d is what he is. Deuteronomy 6:4 Separation is free will, and Jews and Gentiles living in holiness under G-d in their respective roles BY THE COMMANDMENTS.

Q: What is Good & evil, – Light & darkness ?….Len, may I add What is DEATH to this Question of yours? What is death?……Well

ACCORDING TO THE TORAH ALL OF THESE ARE CREATED FOR GOODNESS BY AND FOR G-d AS HIS SERVANTS TO DO HIS WILL AND FOR HIS PURPOSE AND ONLY EVER REFLECT HIS WILL (Isaiah 45:7, Job 2:1-7, Deuteronomy 30 15-16, 1 Chronicles 21:15, 2 Samuel 24:1, 1 Chronicles 2:1-6.)

Consider these differences very VERY carefully Len.

According to Jesus, Paul, and the New Testament Satan is a DECEPTIVE free agent with the will to oppose G-d, and is synonymous with lies, EVIL, Sin, and DEATH. He is the father of lies from the beginning, who fell from heaven like lightening with his angels in his REBELLION AGAINST G-d. (John 8:44, Mathew 25:41, 2 Thessalonians,) to name BUT a few.

SEE THE SHARP SHARP DIFFERENCES? THERE IS NO REBELLION IN HEAVEN IN JUDAISM. THE Angels, ALL OF THEM, INCLUDING THE SATAN ARE ONLY SERVANTS OF G-d.

Q: How can you see or understand GOD as ONE BEING, yet Three Persons within The Godhead ?

While certain verses in the tanakh may be construed THROUGH MUCH INTERPRETATION as supporting a trinitarian reading because of references to Hashem himself, the angel of the lord, and the spirit of G-d, ITS CRUCIAL TO NOTE THAT NOBODY EVER ADDRESSES THESE MANIFESTATIONS (IF THEY EXIST!) SEPARATELY IN PRAYER OR SERVICE IN SCRIPTURE. ONLY THE FATHER IS EVER! ADDRESSED, SERVED, AND PRAYED TO!

ALSO, IF the Angel of the lord in the Tanakh is the pre incarnate Logos/Son of G-d, what about these verses? 1 Chronicles 2:1 and 2 Samuel 24:1. It says G-d stirred up David, but then the other verse it says Satan (an angel of the lord) stirred up David. Is Satan therefore a manifestation of G-d, a 4th member of the trinity because he is used interchangeably with the lord?

AS AN ASIDE, YOUR OWN CHRISTIAN BIBLE TELLS YOU NOT TO TRUST A MAN WHO CLAIMS TO BE G-D and seeks your service. YOU ARE ALSO TOLD NOT TO REST YOUR FAITH IN ANYBODY’s MIRACLES. (Mathew 16:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, and revelation.)

CONSIDER THAT JEWS WILL NEVER ACCEPT ANYONE WHO WALKS THIS EARTH AS DIVINE IN ANY SENSE EVER!, BECAUSE THEY ARE TORAH FAITHFUL SO THEY WOULD NEVER FALL FOR IT!

THE ONLY SOLID FOUNDATION GIVEN IN THE SCRIPTURES FOR TRUTH IS COMMANDMENTS.

Q: What is the relationship between atonement, repentance, and Redemption ?

NO SACRIFICE IN THE TORAH ATONES FOR A WILLFUL SIN, ONLY REPENTANCE CAN. Look at what Even your own apostle Paul (speaking only to MEMBERS of his congregation of Jesus believers in Corinth) says in 1 Corinthians 6:10. NO WICKED LAWBREAKER GETS INTO THE KINGDOM.

Q: What is the relationship between redemption and transformation and conversion of the soul ? G-d knows, not us.

Q: What is the relationship between the Micro & the Macro ? between “yin” and “yang” ? G-d knows

Q: WHO do you trust ? and What is your authority for Right & Reality, … and why ?

    TRUST HASHEM AND HIM ONLY
